Pancake Day, 1980s

The Duluth Lions Club held their 53rd annual Pancake Day on Thursday, once again drawing big crowds to enjoy breakfast all day at the DECC. Here are a couple of photos from Pancake Days past:

Great blog! Grew up on Garfield Ave. before the Hi-bridge, now live in NC. I have 2 pictures of the last classes of Adams School. Will send if interested. Please see if you can round up photos of Garfield prior to Hi bridge, would love to see them.

I don’t really have memories of Pancake Day, except that it’s been around since I was a kid, and it’s usually a fun time. But then you have to come home and immediately throw your clothes into the washer to get rid of the smokey griddle smell. (Worth it, though.) The thing that makes me laugh is that you can come out of the arena and have your blood sugar level tested. I try to not make eye contact with those folks. There are things in life I don’t want to know.
